Lector model CDP-7T, CD player with tube output stage
Lector model CDP-7T in pristine condition. This is the original CDP-7T Mk-1 non-oversampling player with tube output stage that got such good reviews. It is a top loading CD player with its power supply in a second chassis connected by an attached cable. I am the original owner and purchased it new-sealed from an official dealer. It has always played perfectly with never a glitch. It is in very good condition with no major marks. It has excellent dynamics, wonderful inner detail, a great soundstage, and is the most “analog” sounding CD player I have heard. It got rave reviews in The Absolute Sound, and won a Golden Ear award. I purchased the Lector CDP-7T after several years of trying other high end CD players in my home. The list includes players in the 2 – 7$K price range, such as the Musical Fidelity A308, Resolution Audio Opus 21, Accuphase DP-55V, Ayre CX-7, Musical Fidelity A5, Accuphase DP-65V, and Jadis JD3. The Lector was clearly superior in sound quality to all of these. Tube rolling with this player was fun and enlightening. It is sensitive to tube selection, so you can sculpt the sound to match your taste, system and room acoustics. I will ship it with a pair of killer Siemens & Halske triple mica E81CC installed, and include six other pairs of 12AT7s. These include Electro-harmonix, JJ Electronic, RTC, Sylvania Gold 6201, Mullard CV4024 (from Upscale Audio), and Chelmer Valves ECC81(probably Siemens). I should add that changing the tubes out is very easy, four small Allen screws hold a vent plate over the tubes, swap and replace the plate. You can also leave the plate off if you want to do several tube changes quickly. It comes with every thing from the factory in the original double box packaging, remote, manual and power cord. A great opportunity to put a real world class CD player in your system! All high end player need a great isolation base to sound their best. The Lector is no exception. I have tried several varieties and settled on a Silent Running Audio Ohio Class base. No fuss or tinkering. If the buyer is interested in the SRA base, we can come to some agreement. I will not sell the SRA base until the new Lector owner has the opportunity to purchase it.
