REGA RESEARCH MAIA 3 85W/CH STEREO POWER AMPLIFIER - USED - $345 PLUS SHIPRega Research often more well known for their turntables and CD Player, also makes terrific electronics. This Maia 3 is a very good 85W/Ch Stereo power amp which has the clear analog sound that Rega gear is so well known for. If you have ever heard the Brio3 Integrated, this is a bit more clear and gutsy sounding than the small Rega integrated and better sounding than the amp in the Mira 3 integrated (cleaner, more musical). This amp has no factory packaging, but we have safely packaged it for shipment anywhere. The amp works perfectly - only runs warm to the touch and the large heat sinking on the bottom actually allows placement where shelf height is limited without concern. This amp link most other Rega amps has a set of link outputs (which essentially a pair of RCA jacks which have the input signal directly feed to them to allow connection to another amplifier if you want to bi-amp) - one of the link output RCA jacks has it's inner plastic part chewed up some - we have tested the amp thoroughly though and the input and link output jacks all work fine. Cosmetically the amp has a couple marks one the face-plate (see pictures - one on front and the lower left corner has some wear marks) and the plastic knobs on the speaker jacks are a little roughed up from use (i.e. using pliers or something link that to tighten from the looks of it. Our recommendation with Rega amps is to use banana type speaker cable connections anyway because the largish 8mm diameter of the posts means most 1/4 wide US Spec spades will not fit onto the post shaft) - so overall cosmetic shape is fair. These retailed for $995 when they first came out and then price jumped up to around $1,500 retail before they where discontinued) - a terrific amp for only $345 plus shipping.
