I am the second owner of this fine amplifier , bought it from the original owner about 8 years ago. Never thought that I'd be selling this amp, but mounting automobile bills force this sale. I will include with this amplifier, the original McIntosh labled , USA made 7591 tubes (labled Westinghouse) which still test very high (about 90%).Also included are the preamp/driver/ phase splitter tubes which consist of a Mullard 12AX7, Mullard 12AU7, GE 12AU7, and two RCA 12BH7s/, all which test as NOS. I will also include a second set (four) of USA made 7591s (Westinghouse labled)that test as NOS and Mullard 12AX7, RCA and Sylvania 12AU7s,and two RCA 12BH7s , thsat also test as NOS. You should never have to buy a tube for this amplifier in your or it's lifetime. A year or two after getting this amplifier, I decided to do a modified "McShane" power supply upgrade and replaced the voltage doubler electrolytics with a pair of low ESR Panasonic 820uf capacitors. I also replaced the old selenium (DANGEROUS!) diodes with Ultra Fast rectifiers and associated bias supply capacitors with Elna Cerefine. A new CL-30 current inrush limiter was added to allow the amp to power up slowly.A few out of spec carbon comp resistors were replaced with correct Allen Bradley replacements. Also added 60uf (3 x 20 uf)of film and foil capacitance after the choke to further smooth out the power supply. This amplifier needs nothing EXCEPT good music playing through it.If you have any questions, or want to see more pictures , please email me directly at prlwpod@aol.com.
