Bass/Midrange Driver: Two 6.5" rigid poly fiber cone, die cast magnesium baskets and specially ventered magnet systems. Magnetically shielded. Truely nice rosewood finish. Recommended Amplification: 10 to 400 Watts RMS The superior bass extension, dynamics, realism and impact presented in the full range capable 6.3, make this speaker comparable to that of much larger, complex and more costly loudspeaker designs. The high output 6.5" poly fiber driver features dynamic response, tight low base extension and excellent power handling capabilities. The 6.3s are excellent loudspeakers for discriminating listeners with mid-size to large listening rooms. Great with solid state but even smoother with tubes. They just sound good.Everything that was good in the Soliloquy 5.3 is now magnified! They look great and sound even better. Here is how one reviewer put it:
The Soliloquy 6.3s speak with a distinct voice that's on the warm, robust side of things, which is why properly positioning the speakers is so vital. When the speakers are not toed in enough, they sound overly soft and indistinct. But when things are right, the 6.3s sound sweet and inviting, both of which happen to please me more than analytical and, gulp, sterile. Their bass only adds to this characterization -- it is powerful, able to fill a large room or overpower one that's too small. Through the mids, the 6.3s are full and round, fleshy is probably the best way to describe them, while the top end is friendly in its middle and lower regions and open at its very height, giving the music an ample amount of sheen. Local sale strongly preferred. Overall, the speakers are in very good shape for their age. One of the speakers does have a scratch on it's side though, that I've tried to capture in one photo.
