There are only a couple of ways to upgrade it and get better sound out of this marvel of engineering made totally in the US.
The first is the most impactful – that is to replace the internal wires and bypass their plug in, it is also difficult to do yourself, and expensive to have someone else do it ($250.00 is the least I have seen it on the web). The second makes a big difference but is expensive if you want to have one made for yourself. I got quotes from $80.00 to over $100.00 to get one made. I had a dozen made to get the price down… but also to make this available to Unitrac owners at a more reasonable price. It fits perfectly on the arm shaft as you can see in the third photo (note the stock nut on top of the Big Nut in that photo as well) and it weighs almost a pound as you can see in the first photo v.s. the measly 7.1 grams as you can see in the second photo. NOTE: make sure you have two inches clearance under your armboard for this huge nut.
