The Supex 900 Super is a low output moving coil cartridge that was designed by Sugano, the founder of Koetsu cartridges. The 900 is very similar to the Koetus Black in design and sound. I have a black/gold that I have switched back and forth with for the last several weeks, I have settled down with the 900 as the midrange is a little more pronounced- which I like.
This 900 is in terrific shape, the former owner hardly used it as he liked the match with his light arm and a Grace F9E. He broke the cantilever in packing and I had Soundsmith put on a new aluminum/elliptical one. It sounds fantastic.
Search the web, it is full of posts about this fantastic cartridge that most prefer to the Koetsu Black. NOTE: shown in Soundsmith jewel box, which it will be shipped in.Tracking force: 1-1.5g
