As I continue to downsize due to economic issues I am now placing my Walker Audio Signature phono stage up for sale. Walker Audio gear tends to speak for itself, it is very high quality. When this stage was being sold, Lloyd Walker had two versions, the Signature ($6650) and the Reference ($12,000). The circuit design was very similar, the difference was in the chassis. The Signature was in a metal chassi, the Reference in a wood chassis. This Signature version was discountinued about 5 years ago. The Reference now sells for $20,000). I love tubes, I have a tube preamp and amp, but I like SS for a phono stage. SS just handles very small signals better, IMHO. This is currently set up for 66 db of gain and loaded at 100 ohms, perfect for my ZYX 4D-X 0.24mV cartridge. It can be adjusted by switching resistors. This comes with a digital multimeter to adjust the DC offset. This is not a big deal. Check it a couple times when first set up and then once every few months thereafter. The reason for this is that Lloyd believes that the best coupling cap is NO coupling cap. That's what makes this phono preamp so revealing. No original box, but I can pack very well. I have the original manual, which has some hand written notes from Lloyd Walker as well.
