I'm selling this pair of M60 Mk II 60 watt OTL amplifiers for the estate of a deceased audiophile friend, who passed away last year after a long battle with cancer. I mention this because these amps are in pristine condition (S/N 480) and have received very little use since he purchased them new. They have the Power Supply Boost upgrade ($400) and the Teflon coupling capacitor upgrade ($500.) The 16 power tubes are stock from Atma-Sphere, and test very strong (plus two spares), and there are eight (two sets of four) custom matched NOS Tung-Sol 6SN7-GTB gain/driver tubes from Andy at Vintage Tube Services ($300.) Also included are 4 solid brass VTS octal tube dampers, for the two critical 6SN7's in each amp ($260). A total of almost $1500 in extras and upgrades!The current stock model M60 Mk 3.1, lists for $6990/pair. With all the same upgrades and extras as this unit, it would now cost $8500! The two major differences in the latest (Mk 3.1) model are:
(1.) a small change in appearance: the transformer/power supply housing now has rounded corners, and
(2.) the signal inputs are now on the rear.
This pair of M60 Mk 2's with upgrades and extras, were $6000 MSRP when purchased new, and now lack only the Caddock resistor package, an optional extra for any version. If you have it done however, you would get a new 3-year warranty; so that would be the main reason for doing it, I think ;~.) The amps were recently powered up (on a Variac) and completely checked out by Stephen Sank, my tech here in Tucson. I also listened to them in my own system (see pic ;~) and they sounded absolutely fantastic -- just as they are!One other thing: the buyer must supply good quality power cords. However, if you want a great deal on a pair of 3ft. Top Gun power cords (MSRP = $500 ea.) I will include the pair -- only with this sale -- for an additional $250 (I have them advertised elsewhere on this site for $200 ea -- still a bargain!) Michael bought these fantastic cords especially for these amps (with the blessing of Ralph Karsten, I was told) and they do provide that last extra bit of performance.

I'd keep them for myself (and sell my McIntosh MC275 ;~) except that I live in the desert, and simply can't afford to air condition them; so I've decided to let them go (I have brand new boxes and custom packing materials ordered directly from Atma-Sphere, to insure safe shipping.)
