VPI HW-19 MKIV TURNTABLE WITH VPI SAMA MOTOR UPGRADE, TNT BEARING/PLATTER, VPI SDS MOTOR DRIVE, MOERCH DP-6 GOLD TONEARM, AND GINKO DUSTCOVER - $2,750.

Though over 12 years old, this HW-19MKIV table is in excellent condition with many upgrades. It comes with a Moerch dp-6 tonearm (gold finish Blue Dot arm wand - this arm is still made today and is over $3,000 new). I have many pictures of the table which show various details (some are shown here, but you can see the rest of them here at this link to photo gallery on FB : www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151797683153796.1073741837.302102668795&type=1 NB: The photo gallery is viewable by anyone - you don't have to have a FB account to see the pics). The table is complete with arm board for the Moerch tonearm (which is the arm that has been used on the table since new) less cartridge and (std DIN) phono cable is not included.

I have fully assembled the table and verified the arm has full continuity and all adjustments work. The arm balances, antiskate and queuing and arm hight adjustments are all in great shape and fully functional. The arm is a uni-pivot design and I would not say set-up is simple, but the instructions are pretty clear. The pivot in this arm has always been used dry, so the original syringe with damping fluid is still here and full fluid. For more details on the arm the you can check out Moerch own website and the current US distributors site for info: http://www.sorasound.com/products/moerch/technical-specifications-moerch-dp-6dp-8up-4/ http://www.sorasound.com/products/moerch/model-dp-6/ http://www.moerch.dk/DP6.htm

The VPI SAMA Motor and VPI TNT platter/bearing (I have inspected, cleaned out and re-lubricated to ensure it is working as it should - not that it was gummed up or anything in the first place - this table has been well taken care of) on this table run the platter around .4% slow as measured with my KAB stroboscope at 33 rpm speed (45 rpm is a also a bit slow too, but very by very little) when plugged into the wall. The belt is only a year old (and a additional fresh new belt is included). As I have shown in one of the pictures, the SDS when running at 60.3Hz gets the motor/platter system going at exactly 33 1/3. I will NOT separate the SDS from this table. I have talked with VPI and they say its the belt - hence the spare I have ordered (though the current belt looks fine).

The table is in excellent condition for its age, but I have conservatively rated it 8/10. No scratches on the frame, plinth etc. The table comes with its original spring suspension, but has the upgraded solid rubber type suspension installed in it. This table has a number of upgrades. The Stand Alone Motor Assembly (called SAMA. Note that the original motor removed long ago and is not included with the table), and the TNT platter/spindle/bearing upgrade (a $1,800 upgrade at the time). My only criticism is with the arm board: It is drilled at the correct distance/location (I checked), but the hole is is a couple mm large. The arm is easily and properly secured because the size of the collar of the arm and the lock nut, but when the arm is installed you will want to try to keep the arms shaft centered and check the pivot to spindle distance is to what Moerch specs in the instructions. The SDS is in very good condition - works perfectly. Cosmetically the SDS has a small dent in the top cover (no associated scratch I can see though). See the photo gallery linked to for a picture of the top cover (as well as other views of the SDS) that shows the dent.

The table comes with factory packaging for the table, SDS, and the Moerch tonearm. Since the factory HW-19 box and packaging was not so great, I have braced up the box and internal packaging so that the table, platter, plinth all fit very securely and safely inside for shipment (that box weighs in at around 55lbs with the table and arm inside it). I have packed the SAMA motor separately and that will ship in its own smaller box to ensure safe shipment as I could not get in in the factory HW19 box and secured as well as I would like. The SDS has its factory packaging and will be placed in a larger outer box along with the dustcover in a third box.

I know there is allot of information here, but I wanted to make sure I convey the exact condition of the table and may well go though the add and make some changes to further clarify things or correct mistakes which I may have missed! This is a terrific table set-up that will deliver great sound. If you are looking for a table that is simple to set-up and use - let me sell you a Rega... but if you have some experience with good turntables (or VPIs) or some mechanical common sense, this can be a great choice for a serious analog lover. Don't like the Moerch arm??? remove the armboard, get on for a VPI, Rega or som other arm and put a arm you want on the table and sell off the Moerch for a good dollar. Lots of possibilities here! NEED A CARTRIDGE FOR IT? The Moerch arm is well suited for Dynavectors and we will sell you one at a very good price if bought WITH the turntable.
