I received this amplifier brand new less than three months ago, direct from the manufacturer. This is the newest model from Jack Elliano, at Electra-Fidelity.The amp is gorgeous, in gloss black with maroon bells. The output is bafflingly powerful at 11 wpc, using a single 12AT7 input tube feeding one EL34 tube per channel. The massive transformers are custom wound by Jack. Describing the sound of a component is of course quite subjective, but the first word that comes to mind is "organic," with great clarity, ease, and balance. Not a hint of harshness. Acoustic instruments and vocals are particularly stunning. Sound stage is wide and deep, with pinpoint imaging. I hate to part with this beauty, but I'm afraid that I became quite smitten with a pair of Dehavilland Fisher 50A Monoblocks that appeared for sale while my order was being completed. This amp is an absolute bargain at the new price of $3,500. With less than 50 hours on it, and in new condition, this one is a steal! At my asking price I will include the stock JJ tubes, as well as a NOS 1959 Phillips Miniwatt 12AT7 and a pair of strong testing brown base dual-halo Mullard EL34 tubes, that I believe to be X2 classification. As great as the amp sounded with the factory set, these tubes bring it to an another level of refinement altogether. Please add 3% if using Paypal.
