This used Audio Research D130 (solid state) stereo power amp. With RCA AND Balanced inputs, this 130W/ch power amp though about 18 years old is in perfect working order and in excellent condition for its age. This was a $2,000 MSRP power amp when new back then (would probably be $3K or more if AR made it today). It has no factory box or manual, but we can very safely package this amp for shipment. Yours for $650 plus shipping!--------------------------------------------------------------------------- PRODUCT SUMMARY/INFO: This Audio Research D-130 amplifier was manufactured between 1996 and 2001, and is a superbly built, robust machine that sounds sublime. It is incredibly stable with tons of headroom, capable of driving difficult Ohm loads such as most electrostatic speakers. But it is not just a powerful workhorse amplifier – this amp has a very rich and velvety midrange that Audio Research is famous for. Here is a brief description with more technical detail from Audio Research: The D130 is a two-channel power amplifier using advanced semiconductor topology from input to output. Like Audio Research's most recent tube amplifier designs, the D130 uses distributed power supplies (52,000 uF total energy storage) on separate output stage circuit boards to yield a virtual dual-mono layout back to the A.C. power transformer. This layout minimizes signal-path lengths and allows the use of high-purity, low-ESR storage capacitors for quicker, cleaner transient response and better overall musical dynamics. Input impedance is a modest 150K ohms single-ended, making the D130 easy to drive with any Audio Research preamplifier. Multiple-emitter transistors (METs) are used in the output stage; these devices have the electrical ruggedness of a bipolar design, and the musicality that MOSFET devices are known for. A fast-acting, sonically transparent protection circuit shuts down the driver stage of the amplifier whenever a fault condition is sensed at either the input or output of the amplifier (indicated by amber LED). With ample power to drive most contemporary speaker designs (130 WPC into 8 ohms), the D130 is nonetheless compact in size, making it ideal for shelf or cabinet installation (it also has modest heat dissipation, thanks to generous heat-sinking of the output boards). Inputs include both balanced and single-ended connectors for convenient connection to a preamp or A-V processor. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Signature Sound is a small Hi-End HiFi shop located near Syracuse New York.
