A pair of Heco Direkt speakers. They look beautiful and more importantly, sound fantastic. They are only a couple of months old and in like new condition. They come with all of their original hardware, grilles, paperwork and sturdy shipping boxes/foam inserts.I had been looking for a couple of years for speakers that would sound close to my vintage Western Electric/Jensen open baffles but in a smaller package. The Direkts were the perfect fit. Just like my OBs, they use a 10” paper cone woofer/mid-range and horn tweeter (both made in-house by Heco). They also have a relatively wide front baffle for modern speakers. They are really fun to listen to but have a refined sound as well. I am especially impressed with their sound staging and imaging. Not only do they have high sensitivity but you will not need a subwoofer. I am sure a major reason for their excellent sound is the special "Kraft" paper used for the low frequency driver. Here are the specs: 2-way bass reflex, Sensitivity approx. 95dB, Frequency Response 25 – 28,000Hz (see flat freq. resp. graph in photo 4), Impedance 6 ohms nominal (tube amps can be used with 4 or 8 ohm taps), Recommended Amplifier Power 10 – 320 watts, Dimensions approx. with feet 39" (H) x 17.25" (W) x 15" (D) and Weight 57 Pounds. The Direkt has been receiving exceptional reviews in the European Audio magazines (see the Heco website). The latest is in the February 2016 edition of UK magazine Hi-Fi Choice. I show their "Verdict" in photo 5. These are some of the best reviews in a long time, especially for a reasonably priced, high efficiency speaker.
After listening to the Direkt, I want to try my vintage drivers on narrower baffles. In order to fund and justify that project, I need to sell the Direkts. While I have only used them with a 300B tube amp, according to the reviews, they work equally well with tube or solid-state amps.
