FOR SALE: One Audiocraft AC-4000MC (Black) tonearm. This 12" oil-damped unipivot arm is, in my opinion (and in the opinion of many Japanese audiophiles) one of the best static-balanced arms out there. It has a great delicacy. I have used this with my ZYX UNIverse and with a number of MM carts (especially my Technics 205C Mk3) with good results in the past. The smaller brother of the AC-4400. This arm and the AC-4400 were quite often used as replacement arms on the Exclusive P3 turntables when they came out as many people at the time thought they sounded better than the ultra-expensively-made arm which came on the P3. PRICE: $1350 (only other one I've seen recently is offered in HK at just under $2000, though he has an original box). It comes with one straight armpipe (I believe MC-SL but not 100% sure). Other armpipes are occasionally available on the secondary market. If the buyer is interested, I can arrange to acquire armwands on behalf of the buyer at a later date. This arm does not include a 5-pin phono cord - I used an Oyaide cord which is currently on a different arm. I can supply a no-name non-original cord if the buyer wants one. Generally good cosmetic conditions, with a few light scuffs of the black anodization. Otherwise, it is quite clean but has the same superb dust-collecting abilities that all black aluminum arms seem to feature. OTHER: This arm comes with:
1) the original large steel locknut-style stabilizer
2) one Japanese language owner's manual (courtesy of the Vinyl Engine) SHIPPING: Shipping is worldwide from Japan. I can send EMS (registered airparcel), by boat (cheapest), or by air/land (which usually comes to be 10-20% cheaper than EMS). As an indication, the package is likely to be about 1.0-1.5kg including packing materials, which means shipping of the whole unit would probably cost on the order of $25-35 (to be confirmed) by EMS to the US and perhaps about half that by surface freight. PAYMENT: Paypal+3%, wire transfer, international postal money order, personal check. Questions welcome by email, and I can call to discuss as well (though keep in mind I am on Tokyo time, which is E.S.T (NYC) +13hrs). Higher-res pics available on request.
