Earlier this year I purchased a Goldring 2500 and a 1042 to try in my system. The clarity and resolution of this cartridge are something else, and the threaded body is a nice extra. That said, the 1042 is a better match for my system, but maybe not for yours. My loss could be your gain.The stylus has about 115 hrs. on it, which is why it's rated 9/10. (I keep track of LPs played and extrapolate from there.) See the link to Goldring for the specs. In addition, all 2000 series carts. include Samarium Cobalt magnets for higher outputs and Permalloy armature tubes to reduce mass. Super Permalloy shielding is used to reduce noise and the same material is utilized to form the poleshoes for higher sensitivity. All connector pins are gold plated to eliminate corrosion and minimize contact resistance. Inquiries are welcome.
