We purchased this HK gear brand new in the mid to late 80's. By 1990 it was all sent to my Sister in CT. She used it until recently when it began having issues. We purchased a newer stereo setup for Her and She sent all the Harman Kardon units back here to Washington State. HK825 Preamp had several bad Electrolytic Capacitors that have been replaced with Nichicon Audio Grade Caps. Had switches & potentiometers cleaned. HK870 Power Amplifier required one small Electrolytic Capacitor to be replaced and needed to have several Cold Solder Joints repaired on its Main PC Board in the area where the Main Capacitors & Bridge Rectifiers reside. The HK825 Preamplifier, HK870 Power Amplifier, CD91 Cassette Player, EQ8 Equalizer and TU915 AM/FM Tuner all function properly. I would say the cabinets of the TU915, CD91 and EQ8 are in better condition than the HK825 or HK870. They all look pretty good from the front although there are some scratches. On July 4th we connected these HK units to a pair of large floorstanding 4-Ohm speakers and let the units play flawlessly for a good six hours. The listed price is Firm for all five pieces and the Preamp & Power Amp are worth the listed price.
