I have used the 405 w/Quad 57's in a hard to be satisfied home and this amp sounds and works great with no issues whatsoever. Some people don't understand how a sub $500 amp sounds as good or better than $5k. No issues - it was properly rebuilt using the factory authorized pc boards 4 years ago and used with different speakers including my '57 electrostats. It has normal gold RCA input jacks & the transformer and everything else is original to this classic. It has been unconditionally stable with any speaker I've used with it. This thing is heavy [shipping extra USA only] so if you or a friend can pick it up, I'm in central NJ - it's about 25 lbs just for the amp, w/ boxing probably 40.
