A pair of Ampex 6973. One of the pair is stock with tubes, but totally unchecked. Suspect needs to be recapped.Second has been reworked. Different Quad cap and , more importantly, different output transformer. Original output x-73 has been replaced with a Triad s-144. The original has the x-73 output which as a single speaker tap at 16 ohm. The replacement Triad, who also built the original, has 16, 8 and 4 ohm taps. Laminations look similar in size but has a bigger stack ( about 1/4 inch). Only input tubes on this one; missing 6973 outputs and the 6CA4 rectifier Supposedly one of the sweetest of the Ampex amps and manufactured primarily for their consoles
