I'll probably regret this but the time has come for me to part with this, one of my favorite amps. Rated at 8 watts per channel using a pair of Valve Art brand 300B tubes. This is one of the now (very-)rare original versions with the Cerafine ELNA caps, heavy transformers, point-to-point wiring and better quality RCA jacks, and 4 ohm, 8 ohm and 16 ohm speaker connectors. It took more than few years for me to find one of these, the original version with the Cerafine ELNA caps and overall higher build quality and parts. I auditioned one long ago from a then local dealer but didn't pull the trigger; next thing I knew ASL redesigned and altered/changed the model including lesser quality caps and parts, featured a cheaper looking and feeling silver face plate and even offering an integrated amp version with a remote which I personally didn't care for and regarded as more than a step in the wrong direction for what started out as a very fine and exceptional amp indeed. Exceptional value for money. Since I don't have the original box/packaging or manual I have rated this piece 8/10, "Very Good", under the Asylum scale for "Condition and Accessories", but believe I'm being conservative as the actual condition of the unit itself is "Excellent" and truly believe you'd be hard-pressed to find an example of this particular amp in better condition. The nickel-plated chrome chassis could benefit from a good polishing and other than that there are no scratches or any other cosmetic issue whatsoever. Included are both the stock ASL 12AU7 tubes and a set of 4 Electro-Harmonix 12AU7 tubes, which I feel do offer better sound than the stock tubes. This is a heavy amp, specified at 55 pounds net and 65 pounds shipping weight. Please note I do not have the original box but have the experience of buying/selling gear that the amp will be securely-packed and shipped.
