A rarely seen on the used market Aric Audio Special SE KT88 amp, purchased new in September, 2017; I am the original owner. Excellent condition, physically and operationally. Can be used in triode mode (about 9 watts/channel) or ultralinear mode (about 18 watts/channel) with the flip of a switch for each channel, and feedback is adjustable to your preference. This is a handmade amp created by one of the most skilled craftsmen building specialty audio equipment in the USA today. Check out the review linked below referring to this amp's bigger 'brother'. I will include the tubes that came standard with the amp,Electro-Harmonix, but in order to appreciate the 'magic' this amp is capable of, I will also include the following tubes, a greater then $500 value, all with low hours: 1 pair of Gold Lion KT88s, 1 pair of JJ Blue Glass KT88s, 1 matched pair NOS Mullard (made for Phillips) 12ax7s.

Although the amp will work with KT120 and KT150 tubes, these tubes will not increase the power of the amp as they will in the Transcend version of the amp. I never tried those tube types as I was more than happy with the KT88 tube.

This particular amp is no longer featured on the Aric Audio website, but my particular amp included some upgrades from what was included in the standard version: better speaker binding posts, (Audyn) cap-plus upgrade, as well as upgraded (gold plated) tube sockets. The original purchase price of this amp, with upgrades, was $1500. Including the original purchase price of the tubes listed above, I have over $2,000 into the amp. I am asking $1050 for the amp with the original stock tubes (Electro-Harmonix), as well as all tubes listed above.

When I purchased this amp, I was using a First Watt F6, which was one of my favorite amps after over 40 years into this hobby. After many years without a tube amp in my system, I was interested to try out a good, single-ended tube amp, one that was well made (point to point, hand-wired) but that wouldn't break the bank. The Aric amp bested the F6 in ways that were meaningful for me, which says a lot. By the way, the knob you see on the front of the amp is for adjusting feedback. All the way down (to the left) would be zero feedback. There is no volume control on the amp.

Please note that the original box the amp came in was not sturdy enough to use again, so I had purchased a better box for shipping. Original packing material has been added to as well, and rest assured, the amp will be double-boxed for safe shipping. All tubes will be shipped in a separate box. I will only ship to the continental USA and Canada. Buyer pays shipping and Paypal fees.
