Rebuilt last year from the ground up using best quality parts sourced from Jim McShane and augmented where appropriate. Rebuilt from the chassis up.The transformers were stripped down to bare metal, primed, painted, and clear coated. They are not flawless, but damn they look good. The chassis was left with original finish as all lettering is intact. A minor scratch on the top was present, but it is only on the surface and not down to the metal. (see pics) REBUILD CONSISTS OF: Jim McShane Level II PS cap kit Bias supply upgrade with separate toroid transformer Film & Russian K40-Y PIO caps (held away from the board with silicone rings to aid cooling) Metal film & Mills resistors Silver plate teflon wiring including a completely new wiring harness New AC balance pots New tube sockets Gold plated RCA Jacks Gold plated binding posts (4 & 8 ohm) On/Off Power switch Heavy duty power cord Bias pots cleaned and lubricated Bias meter working New Faceplate - Original included
The circuit is bone stock, not modified in any way. I implemented a bus bar ground scheme as recommended by Jim as well as a separate speaker terminal ground wire. This amplifier is in perfect operational condition. Its performance is legendary, but with these modern components and increased PS capacitance it is stunning. Dead silent. Wide open. Killer bass. I'm asking $2600 + shipping with tubes. Local sale preferred. Shipping is possible, but this is a beast of an amp (75lbs). Am willing to meet up within an hour's drive of NYC or anywhere reasonably close to Litchfield, CT.
