For sale is a superb single ended amplifier made by Jeremy Fix. Based on the 13em7 tube, this is a very well built, great sounding stereo tube amplifier making about 2.5 watts per channel. The 13em7 tube is a compactron type first used in early televisions, and is two tubes in one; in this case it is similar to having a 2a3 and a 12ax7 in one tube. Tube rectified (6CA4). Great iron on this amplifier, including vintage Tamura (Tamradio) power and output transformers and a massive vintage Thordarson choke. There is even a headphone section (8 - 600 ohm impedance).

I’ve recently sent the amp back to Jeremy Fix for a tune-up. He updated the coupling caps, "modified the bias scheme to a hybrid fixed/cathode setup" and turned the idle current down a bit on the output tubes to just below maximum rating.

In the interest of total transparency, there is a small issue with the amplifier during warmup: on cold start up, the right channel has a bit of intermittent fuzz (Mr. Fix called this “thermal noise”). On my 100db/wm speakers I’d describe it as a background crackling sound, lasting 1-3 seconds and occurring 3-4 times a minute for the first few minutes of warmup and then diminishing in occurrence from there on. Otherwise, no hum or other issues. This intermittent fuzz could have been eliminated with the addition of a grid resistor, but that may also have adversely affected the high frequency, so we agreed to leave it alone as it is a minor annoyance. This is a small thing but I feel the buyer should know all the details. UPDATE: I have a Sylvania coin base tube that makes little to no noise in the right channel, and what is there is gone completely after a few minutes of warmup.

I'm including several pairs of 13em7 tubes of varying build types (all recently tested good) so you will have tube rolling choices right away.

This is a one of a kind, hand made amplifier using only point to point wiring in a very simple and refined circuit. Wonderful single ended tube sound at its best.

I'm the original owner of this amplifier and have had it in the collection for 4 or 5 years now. Its time for someone else to enjoy it.

I'll give a no questions 3 day return, but the buyer pays shipping both ways and the amp must be returned in the same condition it was sent, etc.
