I have too many amplifiers - ok - too much equipment in general. Will be cleaning house over the next few months.

What we have here is a single MC-30 that was brought back to life by Audio Classics about 10 years ago. Caps, selenium rectifier, some resistors were replaced. The power transformer had a choke as one of the windings - this was replaced with a stand-alone unit that was mounted inside the chassis. The bottom plate is a replacement from Audio Classics with the wonderful logo that we all know and love. Tube complement is vintage / NOS(except for the 6L6GB's). Overall this amp presents very well for it's 50/60 years. There are some scratches on the transformers but the chrome looks nice - I've never had a nicer looking vintage unit of this age including pieces that never left their original consoles.

Right - so how does it sound? Very quiet (hum is very low) and wonderfully present and warm - the highs are there but in no way aggressive. It sounds better than the older MC30's that I have that will probably need to get repaired. Even so it needs a partner (which is why the price is so low) and as I mentioned I just have too much gear.

One other thing - the amp is vintage and is being sold as such. Part of the original electrolytic is in use - it is fully functional and should not be an issue if you use it regularly and will probably last many more years without repairs. As with anything vintage please use proper care.

PayPal fees (if these are not sold locally for cash which I prefer) are on the buyer as are shipping costs. Again preference is for a local buyer - local being Hamilton Heights NYC. Local pickup is cash only of course.

I'll need to clear out more gear soon - if you're interested in Audio Note (Soro SE), Nakamichi Stasis amps, Bottlehead 45 amps, heavily modified Consonance M500 WE 437 / 300B amps (see Thorsten Loesch "Fugue") amps, and more... Lots of Altec, JBL, ESS, projects as well.

Payment and Shipping
Pay By: Paypal, Money Order/Certified Check
Ship Weight: 40 lbs.
Ships From: 10031 (New York, NY)
Ships To: USA Only
Shippers/Payer: UPS, FedEx, Postal / Paid by: Buyer
Shipping Notes: If these need to ship it will be somewhat costly. Just so there are no surprises I tend to take my time when shipping to make sure they're properly packed. Double boxing is standard. This is not cheap - packing material can be almost $50 per unit - shipping is additional - naturally there would be at least 2 boxes - maybe even a third for the tubes.
