Classe CDP-202 compact disc and DVD player in very good condition, with all original Classe packaging for sale. Includes a brand new Classe factory original laser and transport assembly. Chassis is in great condition, with minimal signs of use. Plays redbook CDs, DVD-A, and DVD-Video, with innovative touch-screen controller (one of the very first home stereo products to ever feature this type of interface) which also acts as a mini-video screen. Unit has approximately 40 ~ 50 hours of my direct usage on the new laser assembly, primarily for audio playback (although video playback on the new transport has been tested, as well).

However, as stated directly from the Classe owner's manual,

” It has been our experience that the greatest changes occur within the first 300 hours, as the player reaches thermal equilibrium and the capacitors fully form. After this initial break-in period, the performance of your new product should remain quite consistent for years to come."

Enduring, very positive reviews:

From Stereophile: "Putting aside its stunning looks...the Classé cdp-202 offers a user-friendly interface and superb sound from all disc formats other than SACD... And you gotta love its touchscreen display and control interface. Very nice, Classé. Very nice."

From What Hi-Fi?

5-Star Rating "...the Classé is every bit as revealing, engaging and downright exhilarating as a player at this elevated price level should be. Give it a listen!"

From Hi-Fi News "What the overall effect boils down to is impressive presence, especially the rich lower registers, held in check by beautiful tonal balance. No part of the sonic landscape dominates ... This component seems to have been voiced by someone who loves natural sounds, especially vocals and unplugged instruments."

"...this unabashedly stereo audiophile offering does tick all the right boxes. And, wisely, it errs on the side of musicality when it could easily have veered towards the clinical. So if you are looking for your ‘final’ player, put this one on the list."

From AudioVideo Revolution: "Overall, the CDP-202 was consistently musical. The sound was detailed, but not overly so. Where some audio components control the sound reproduction with rigid total command authority, the Classé seems to gain control over the sound with seduction. The sound does not feel forced, but rather relaxed without sacrifice of detail, providing a musically revealing picture. The midrange was relaxed and slightly recessed in position, with the highs well extended and smooth. The CDP-202 was completely devoid of the glare and grain that plague lesser players."

"The CDP-202 displays wonderful balance and poise with all types of material, providing plenty of detail while getting out of the way and letting the music capture your soul."
