For your consideration is a Marantz CD6000 as modified by Heart Audio of Holland. The technicians at Heart disconnected the DACs from the HDAM solid state output circuit and added in a pair of small signal transformers to perform the I-V conversion for the 6DJ8 / 6922 twin triode tube output stage. The original Sovtek tubes have been replaced by much smoother sounding Ei Elite 6DJ8 gold pins. The result is a player that has a relaxed, musical presentation. No digital glare or harshness at all. This would be a good choice for solid state systems that need a touch of warmth or to tame heavily compressed recordings. It was the mainstay source for a headphone-based system that I no longer use standalone, so I'd rather have it making music and enjoyed than simply gathering dust. PayPal only please.
