Quad Elite CDS CD player for sale with Crystal CS4398 24 bit 192kHz upsampling DAC. This does not play SACD, DVD-A or any other"advanced" audio formats, just Redbook CDs and CD-R CDs. It has 1 Toslink optical digital output, and 1 SPDIF output. It was the less expensive of the Quad Elite CD players, the other, the CDP, had 3 digital inputs and a variable output so it could function as a preamp and be connected directly to a power amplifier. I am the second owner (it was purchased from ENSEMBLE, now Audio Video Therapy in Nashua, NH) and has performed flawlessly in my second system for the past 3 years, but I am consolidating, so it has to go. The remote and a downloaded copy of the manual are included, but I do not have the original box. Let it suffice to say it will be appropriately packaged for transport (please see my feedback if you have any concerns). Current used retail pricing on this player is $889 according to UsedPrice.com, a subscription pricing service, so I have priced this fairly to reflect that I am the second owner and the lack of the original box. It has held its value well, selling used for almost as much as it's pricier brethren. The player has a warm, detailed, open almost tube like sound. It's not going to compete with a top of the line Ayre, but it was never meant to: rather it reproduces high quality music at a reasonable price.
