CANCELLING AD BECAUSE OTHER TRANSPORT WAS SOLD!

IMHO when you listen to the analog-like musicality of the YBA CD4, CDP/transport, it's tonality, harmonics & timbre are immediately recognizable as being way above and beyond what you would expect to hear from a CDP/transport in this price-range. Put on one of your well recorded, favorite CD's and the dynamics & transients will raise goose-bumps on your arms! You'll notice how the sound-stage is very wide beyond the outside of the speakers & it's deep as well, with spot-on placement of musicians & singers within it. If you listen closely you'll almost be able to sense the "air" surrounding them all! Add excellent frequency extension in both frequency extremes and you'll understand why I'm so impressed with the analog-like sonic performance of this YBA CD4! OK then "if" the YBA sounds as great as I'm saying it does, then why would I sell it? The honest answer to that question is quite actually a very simple one. No matter how good the component you own is, there's ALWAYS another audio component that's musically superior! I now once again have a chance to purchase an awesome (and expensive) used transport from a friend that simply has better system synergy with my Musical Paradise MP-D2 DAC, than my YBA CDP does. So I'll need to raise some $$$$$ to purchase my friend's transport!

For those who're interested; the YBA Genesis CD4 CDP/transport uses a top loading Sanyo HD850 CD transport. Once a CD is inserted in the top loading "drawer" there's a magnetic puck that you'll place on the spindle that centers the puck perfectly on the CD's center and "clamps" it magnetically ---{you can see this magnetic puck in the 2nd photo down from the top}--- in addition the bottom of the magnetic puck has a black rubber O-ring which helps act as a damper. The designer, Yves Bernard Andre, incorporates his patented Blue Diode design to flood underside of the CD in an eerie blue light while the red laser reads the disc loaded in the YBA Genesis CD4 ---{you can see the blue diode in the last photo}--- now according to Yves Bernard Andre it acts like a form of optical "pre-dithering", if you will, In addition Yves Bernard Andre states: "It's been observed that the phenomenon of stochastic resonance allows random noise to amplify signals of small amplitude. This paradox, used in biology, astronomy, and physics, can also be applied to opto-electronics. It provides a quality of sound similar to analog and produces a level of information never achieved before. The blue laser diode actually permits better extraction of information from the digital medium with less reliance on the error-correction algorithms."

This YBA is a beauty to look at, is very well built weighing 25 LBs and measuring 16.9" W X 4.5" H X 15.2 D The digital conversion section was designed around a 24-bit / 192 kHz Cirrus Logic CS4398 converter running delta / sigma. However, it only deals here with CDs encoded in 16 bits - 44.1 kHz and it will play CD, CD-R, CD-RW types of discs. You'll be interested to know the CD4's digital out for S/PDIF ---{coaxial}--- should be switched off when not in use. I purchased the Musical Paradise MP-D2 tubed DAC so I could use the YBA CD4 as a transport! But after some time passed, about a month or so, I wanted to listen to the CD4 as a CDP again, just so I could hear how it would compare sonically to the Musical Paradise MP-D2 DAC. Well as I listened to the music something didn't seem quite right to me, sonically. Initially I thought my ears just had to adjust to the sound of the YBA CD4's internal DAC again. But as I continued to listen, the sound never improved to the point I knew the YBA could and should sound like. So I decided to check the wires to make sure everything was ok with them. But as I started checking all the wires I noticed I forgot to flip the switch that would turn off the digital out for S/PDIF! Once I flipped the switch, the sound immediately returned to the YBA,s beautiful, analog-like sound!!! So remember not to forget to turn the switch off when using the YBA CD4 as a CDP, ok?

Finally buyer pays shipping and 4% PayPal charges. I believe I'm now about as low as I'll go price-wise ---{I dropped the price $400, from $1750 to $1350}--- but make an offer, what can it hurt? I've looked this piece over and while I don't see any, I'm 64 with the eyes of a 64 year old, so I suppose there could possibly be a very few and very light hair-line scratches, but like I said, I've looked and I don't see any. I only include this for those buyers who'll inspect the unit with a magnifying glass under extremely bright lights. You all know the type of buyers I'm referring to. So I'm just trying to cover my butt. If you have any questions please contact me through this Ad or ask me for my phone # in an email if you prefer talking vs email exchanges...
