Aune mini Dac/Headphone amp, used but in nice shape. There's a few flaws but I would rate it a solid 7/10.I bought this DAC to use in my den and it worked well. I swapped in an old Entech 205 unit in that system along with this one a few times so that works as a basis for comparison. In comparison to the Entech, it was more relaxed sounding with a focus on the center image. Voices were more natural and stood out to a greater degree. It really brings the singer into the room. The soundstage could have been wider, but acceptable. In fact, the soundstage width is perhaps the weakest link of this unit. Although in the review linked below someone said it sounded bright, I would claim the opposite. I owned the original Monica DAC and it reminds me quite a bit of it. As a further illustration, I used it for awhile, just for fun in my main system running a pair of Hales Concept 2 speakers that are known to be somewhat forward in the highs and with metal dome tweeters. It was a good combination and took some of the hardness out of hard cymbal strikes and vocal sibilance. Concerning the headphone amp, I plugged in some Grado's and listened to it for a few minutes when I first got it to ensure all was well. I can't comment on it sonically since that was some time ago, I can however say it was pleasant, which isn't always the case with some headphone amps I've heard. Review:

I'm selling to put towards a TDA1541 dac (perhaps DIY) for my main system. The opamp is socketed in this unit and so opamp rolling is possible, but it takes a few more steps than normal given the heatsinking of the main V-reg device. It will come with a power supply so with the proper cables is ready for use. The price includes shipping via a medium flat rate box and shipping is only in the CONUS.
