DPA Deltec 1024 PDM Special Edition
For sale is my prized DPA Deltec 1024 PDM Special Edition
If you are reading this I am sure you be aware of this outstanding product, and for a long time after its release in 1994 it was considered the worlds’ leading Digital to Analogue converter. It retailed for £8000.
It works as well today as the day I had it. Only 32 were made. It is a three box DAC, 2 power supplies supplying the digital and analogue sides of the DAC. It is only now I feel it has been slightly superseded but at an even greater cost.
Please read the reviews and although they are dated 1994, please don’t believe all the hype about amazing improvement here and there in cd/dac sound quality, things have barely improved and I really don’t believe you could beat this today for less than $3000. The bad part. The steel enclosures are in poor condition. Paint is scratched up, here and there are dents on 5mm thick steel face-plate. The 'guts' of the powersupplies are updated with better caps, and DAC buttons are replaced with the brand new. Performance is flawless. No trades please.
