It does this by transforming the signal readed from the disk into a format similar to a high resolution operating both in PCM and DSD up to the higher sample rates for both formats. It's not a miracle but pure technology and precision with a good dose of Made In Italy The Magnifico is a Top Loading CD-Transport with upsampling up to 384kHz-32bits in PCM and 11.2Mbit / s (x256) in DSD. In the first case there is a PCM -> PCM conversion, in the second case a PCM -> DSD. This second option is only available on the dedicated e-I2S (e = enhanced) interface of the I2S interface that allows you to transmit data in DSD format. We have always privileged this communication interface since our introduction in the year 2001; Has the peculiarities that make it, if correctly implemented, the interface with the ability to transmit, without manipulation, directly the audio digital signal. One of the innovations introduced with this unit is the ability to made the upsampling on-the-fly, to change in real-time both the sampling rate and the data output format (PCM or DSD) all from the remote control. Thanks to this feature it is possible to make a direct comparison between the various upsampling modes in both PCM and DSD. This comparison is very complex to do in the case of units where upsampling can only be set up by setup. The Magnifico makes comparison simple and makes it easy to understand how the two main upsampling modes differ. Upsampling on-the-fly has been made possible by the integration of an advanced management software that allows real-time resetting of upsampling chips and master clock change noiseless.
