** Price lowered 7/21 - but feel free to make an offer (relatively reasonable please)I got a new and more expensive Mjolnir amp, so it's sibling is on the selling block. Mjolnir Audio, for those who don't know, is the business of a Stax "Guru" who creates amps using designs by himself and Kevin Gilmore (the KG in KGSS - SS = Solid State). His work is extremely well-received on sites like Head-Fi. This KGSS amp is a good improvement over any Stax amp I've used before, tube or Solid State. I've used a T1W amp, 007t amp, 727 amp, modified 727A amp, and a DIY Exstata....this was noticeably better than all of them. This has the usual excellent quality build & sound from Mjolnir, it sounds wonderful with the 007 Mk I and SR-207, and didn't sound too etchy with Lambda pros either (which have the reputation for being bright at times). Few notes on this unit: * The Power Supply board is an upgrade over the standard KGSS, a version of the "Blue Hawaii" board (the BH amp goes for over $4k) * The Transformer was used from another amp (another KGSS), Birgir @ Mjolnir said it may have a bit of mechanical hum but would not impact the sound. In 2 systems, I never had the hum, but wanted to be up front with that note * It comes with two volume knobs, the ones shown in the picture. I didn't have the set screw for the larger black one, local HW store didn't carry the size so I just used the other one. * Small dent on the rear corner of the top panel, also no impact on sound; apologies for focus issue in the picture Will sell with knob on it now, original volume knob (less set screw), and basic power cord, for $1200 shipped and PayPal'd. ConUS only please. Thanks, Todd - necroscope
