Hello, I'm offering up a Sansui G33000 for sale. I know that since I'm a new member who is offering up a high dollar item, that makes me suspicious, but I'm happy to jump thru hoops to make someone comfortable with the sale. I can take more pictures and/or we can talk on the phone, whatever you need to feel comfortable. I have more photos, if you'd like to see them, send me your email address and I'll mail them out.

I got the amp from an estate sale about 10 years ago without the boxes or manuals. It was non-functioning. I had it restored by a gent who had worked on my Pioneer SA-9500II, and have used it intermittently since then. The tech said one of the main power caps had failed and so had to be replaced (he replaced all the power caps), but then he also recapped and replaced the diodes for the entire power amp. The preamp he just cleaned the pots as it was working perfectly. I have the receipt for this work ($774.95) and will include it in the sale.

Since I acquired it, (perhaps stupidly) I have dragged it along as I moved across the country a couple of times (I'm in the military). So it is not cosmetically perfect. The wood enclosures have very minor damage at their corners, and there's a long scratch across the top of the amp. I say "long" because it's several inches wide, but it's not very deep and didn't penetrate the laminate so it's actually not very noticeable. There are other cosmetic flaws that I consider minor. What *is* noticeable are the two light bulbs that burned out after it had visited the tech and most importantly the plug on the wire that connects the amp and the preamp is broken. It still works perfectly but will come out if you tug on it - it doesn't screw into place any more. It was like that when I got it, and for all the years I've had it has never been an issue. I asked the tech to replace it, but he was sadly unable to find a replacement plug.

I fired the amp up about a month ago and it worked beautifully. There was a bit of oxidation in the pots, but not excessive at all.

As for the price, I really have no idea what is a fair price. People list them for insane amounts on ebay and they never sell, and mine isn't cosmetically perfect. So I'm asking $6000 OBO, and I truly mean OBO. I will not be insulted if you think I'm asking way too much; you might be right, so send me your offer. My plan is to give it a bit of time to be sure everyone has seen it, then sell to the highest offer. I'm including professional UPS packed shipping to CONUS in the purchase cost, which will cost me hundreds of dollars, so please factor that and the $800 power amp restoration into your value estimates. I'd prefer a check or cashier's check, but paypal is fine if you add the 3% fee. If the amp sells thru this site I will make a healthy donation as a thanks.
