I am the second owner of this amplifier and have owned it since December of last year. I bought it direct from the manufacturer whom had received it as a trade-in."This is one of a kind custom make Parallel Single Ended EL84 Integrated Amp driven by EF86 - same one used and made the original Quad II Mono-Block famous. Class A Auto bias 8W Ultra Linear. Constructed with high end James transformers (both output and choke transformer), Japanese R-Core Ultra Low Noise Power Transformer, Authentic resistors and caps, John Blue Chrome Copper Binding Posts, Alps Blue Vol Pot, JJ Power Supply E Cap...etc and finished in Mercedes Benz Brilliant Silver that were used on their SL Roadster. Amplifier is designed and all hand wired here Toronto Canada , there is no PCB - the production version will be run on PCB. For use, there are two inputs, and 0-4-8 ohms speakers out. This is perfect for those who wants a petite sized high quality tube amplifier." When asked how it compares to the Triode Lab EL84TT I recieved the following response:
"It won't be as powerful, accurate and precise as Push Pull, it's different kind of beau. EL84PSE, It sound more like your (1969 Sherwood) SS amp, or other older tube amps such as Mcintosh or QUAD. ITs highs is not as extended and sharp like the EL84TT, but the whole spectrum is more musical (or read less clear than above), but the weight from top to bottom is also more weighty. So this is perfect for horns and speakers with strong tweeters, because this will blend in nicely to smooth up your speakers." Feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
