Hello,This is a tremendous little phono preamp. I have built several of these for friends and they've loved them. This board started out as a kit. What I really like about this is its versatility. It has several choices for capacitance and resistance loading for the cartridge and gain to accommodate MM and most MC cartridges. The capacitor options are: 22pf, 47pf and 100pf. The resistor loading options are: 150K, 82K, 47K (most cartridges) and 12K. Gain is: 30 or 50 db of gain. Let me know what cartridge you have and I'll configure it before I send it to you. I took the kit and made several upgrades. First, I changed out the power supply and output coupling capacitors with Nichicon Fine Gold and their ES (green ones) series on the output. Next, I changed the only resistors (one per channel) in the signal path with Dale metal film ones and finally, I changed the op-amp for the Texas Instruments LM4562 high performance hi fi audio op amp. The op amp is in a socket so you can experiment with other brand dual op amps to suit your taste. Stock this board sounds great but with these upgrades, it really opens things up. Really solid and extended bass, open and resolving midrange and smooth and detailed highs with no harshness. It is also very quiet. I have received many praises from friends and people who have purchased it. To me it sounds better than my $600 Creek preamp and other sub $1000 brands I have tried. The quality comes from the simplicity in my opinion. For the price, you will not find anything that even comes close. Comes with the preamp, a high quality 24VDC power supply with 3 foot cable and the schematic. You could also experiment with battery power. It would run off of two 9V batteries for probably 2 or 3 days straight. I will guarantee this unit for one year. I will include the schematic with my contact info included. Price if firm. Payments accepted via PayPal or USPS Money Order. It will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail for an additional $12.95. Let me know if you have any questions.
