I am the second owner. This is a quiet solid-state phono preamp that can be used with low output MC cartridges or Moving Magnet cartridges. Load and gain are set with internal dip switches. This is easily done but requires removal of the cover AFTER powering down, unplugging, and waiting for 15 minutes for charges to dissipate. Cosmetically the unit looks good from any viewing position. The photo gives the unit a pinkish cast, but this is not correct. The color is standard brushed aluminum. There is a slight nick on top of the face plate to the left of the Rogue logo. It is easier to feel than to see. There is an abrasion on the black top cover that will not be seen unless the unit is placed on top of a rack. Case screws show some wear because of opening and closing case to set switches. I do not turn them flush so as not to pop the heads or strip the case threads. From a sonic standpoint, this is a very clean sounding unit with no obvious sound signature or noise issues. I have used it with a low output Benz Micro Wood L2 and it sounds fine.
