This cord is nicely balanced with a solid, extended bass and an open, extended, yet refined top end. It is a nice improvement over the previous Mega Ultra LS in terms of overall performance and clarity. The Mega Ultra LS2 cord is built around a highly conductive and shielded cable (2x25 amps/conductor) perfectly matched with a silver-plated Marinco cryo power plug and a Sonarquest pure red copper cryo IEC (transparent). This cord produces a precise, clean and nicely balanced sound which is transparent, yet rich, extended, yet refined. All instruments are well defined in a precise and clean soundstage. Bass is solid, extended, yet full with no emphasis of the upper bass. Top end is open, well extended, yet refined with no emphasis of the upper mids. If you have a good and nicely balanced system, I recommended trying the Mega Ultra LS2 power cord. It works great on many components like digital gear, preamps (especially tube preamps), HDTV, power strips and power conditioners. On the downside, it is rather big and stiff because of the thick insulation and the double shield. Also, because of the heavy shielding, it is not recommended for standalone power amps which would benefit from a more lightly shielded power cord like the Open Melody LH which is my best power cords for power amps.
