Belles DMC (Discreet Moving Coil) Preamplifier in good condition. Here is information from Hifi Engine:---------------------------
The Belles DMC preamplifier has been well received by the market, offering the audiophile sonic perfection at an affordable price. It produces unbelievably dynamic sound regardless of the source. Sound with an open, clean top, a detailed, smooth mid range and a powerful, intense bass. In the design of the units, Dave Belles' goal was to obtain the best performance possible for both moving coil and moving magnet cartridge output, without the use of an additional head preamplifier stage so that the signal path would be kept uncluttered. The stages in the direct path are discrete and biased class A except in the tone circuit where a Bi-FET operational amplifier is used. Dave Belles eliminated the RIAA overload and noise problems in the DMC amplifier by using a gain selection switch. He accurately amplified the signal and matched the RIAA curve to produce an extremely high level of information integrity. The DMC (discrete moving coil) amplifier, for use with both moving coil and moving magnet cartridges, features polypropylene capacitors and ultra low noise transistors. The Belles preamplifiers offer unlimited flexibility in switching and source selection. Ordinarily, high end preamplifiers do not come with a host of features, but with Belles you get all the features you need plus the high end performance. You get tone controls, an infrasonic filter, a muting switch, special bypass networks and the ability to listen to one source while recording another and to dub between the two decks. Belles gives you features, flexibility and good sound. In keeping with industry standards, Belles preamplifiers are purposely not equipped with power switches. The high performance industry accepts the fact that all preamplifiers, both tube and solid state, perform and sound best after they have been warmed up. That is, after the circuitry has been on for a time and has had a chance to stabilize. This practice maintains the true character of the sound and also prevents possibly damaging pops and clunks throughout the speaker system or the need for a turn-on delay system. Specifications
