So although the Pre XPd is an entry level product, it holds many of the same individual components as our flagship DAC XP Signature. The Cyrus digital board uses a highly specified high quality DAC and power supply arranged so that all connected digital sources benefit from the inherent quality and expert tuning of our DAC. The Pre XPd has a zone 2 output, meaning that you can use it to play two different sources at the same time - it can transform the sound you enjoy not just in one room, but throughout your house. Our advanced headphone circuitry means that no matter how you use this preamplifier, you can enjoy the clarity and detail Cyrus products are known for. The Pre XPd was developed to take advantage of the high audio quality produced by the Servo Evolution platform in our CD players. Because of this, the CD 8 SE₂ and CD t are great partners for the Pre XPd. It can also be connected to your laptop, computer, TV or satellite box. A strong addition to any system striving for pure hi-fi sound, this audiophile Preamp-DAC can be paired with an optional PSX-R to give it a boost, or upgraded to a Pre Qx DAC when you're craving even more detail and clarity. A striking visual feature of any Cyrus system is the aesthetic lines of the half width chassis. Created by pressure die-casting aluminium, the beauty of this monolithic classic is more than skin deep. The hand finished casework is an integral part of the products’ sound. Cyrus has invested in sophisticated die-cast tooling to create an electronically shielded and mechanically vibration free environment for the sensitive audio circuits which are hung inside the inverted chassis. Microphonic interference can occur when certain components transform mechanical vibration into unwanted electrical noise if the chassis is excited. The Cyrus chassis has been designed to provide an enclosure that is immune from a wide range of frequencies. Inside a common steel chassis, components such as transformers radiate electromagnetic fields which induce unwanted electric currents and secondary magnetic fields within the ferrous box, thereby adversely affecting other components in the same enclosure. In the Cyrus die-cast chassis our choice of non-ferrous aluminium means this effect is avoided.
