This line stage is shockingly good as all the reviews say. Many who have heard mine asked if it was a tube unit. It is not. It is a massive unit, thanks to its large power supply all enclosed in its own iron incasement box. It pure copper outer box yields an outstanding smoothness but with great definition.This preamp can be used either in balanced or in single ended. For single ended there are three pairs of inputs and two pair of single-ended outputs. For balanced there is one pair of balanced inputs, and one pair of balanced outputs. On the back there is a power supply grounding post of pure copper and signal grounding post also of pure copper. The volume attenuator uses separate special resistors all matched and carefully assembled. The Koda K-10 weighs 59.4 pounds. I was able to use both the Koda and the B.M.C. M2s set in balanced on the Koda and the M2 amps. But I could also use single-ended on both. Balnced was clearly superior. But at the time High Fidelity Cables did make balanced ICs, so I used Exemplar Audio Cables. I found using in balanced setting was best, but the single ended operation is also exemplar.
