Hand-built for me by master light dependent resistor (LDR) preamp designer / builder Chris Daly, who owns and operates "Stereo Coffee" in New Zealand. I received this unit last week (2/25/15) and it is, without a doubt, the most neutral and revealing preamp I have ever used....it's really not even a preamp, as such, but rather a passive attenuator that employs no mechanical switches or relays. With no such interface points, the signal is entirely uncolored and uncompromised; If you want to truly listen to the source with no sonic signature imparted by your volume control device, LDR's are the solution. 2 pair RCA inputs, 1 pair RCA outputs, keychain style remote control (volume only) whereby "A" lowers and "B" raises volume, push-button input selection, power cord...very basic, but very excellent. It is in the PRECISE condition in which it arrived to me last week; that is to say, DIY-ish in its appearance with some minor 'swirls' on the brushed aluminum faceplate. Only reason for sale is an unexpected switch from solid state to a very low-power SET amplifier for which the LDR provides slightly insufficient gain. I also have a ridiculous abundance of gear (see my other ads) and mounting bills. Otherwise I would hold onto this one for sure. Insured ground shipping to any Lower 48 street (not PO box) address. I will be happy to answer any questions to the best of my abilities. Please check my 100% positive feedback on eBay ('kidmarine1') or A'Gon (mthowe) and buy with confidence. Thank you for looking.
