Up for sale from the last of my reference system is a wonderful passive line stage. The Stereo Knight Silverstone SE magnetic passive preamp.Being a boutique builder that sells direct to end user, they are not widely known. but several of his preamps have been reviewed and highly praised (Dagogo, 6Moons, etc) I've owned it for 7-8 years, although for the past 3 years it was only used sporadically. Used primarily with my tube amps; a 300B SET amp & 6C33C SET mono amps. During this same time period I also owned preamps from Lamm & Aesthetix. I slightly preferred these 2, but always enjoyed the Stereo Knight as it clearly played in the same league. I actually prefered it in the winter time with my tube amps.
To my ears it was near dead quiet with 98db speakers. Very revealing of detail and very close to tonally neutral (if anything it leaned very slightly to the cold side of neutral)
Meticulously handcrafted with point to point wiring, hand wound trannies, ofc copper wire. 3 RCA inputs, 2 RCA output, 0 or 6dB of gain. Unit is in excellent condition; 8/10 cosmetic & 100% functional.
Will ship in original box & packing, but will also be securely double boxed. Buyer to pay actual insure ground shipping and any PP fee. Feel free to ask any questions. And buy with confidence, 100%+ feedback on all the sites for 15+ years. From the website:
