Hello,I am selling a custom made Abacus Akido preamplifier. I bought this preamp from an Audiogon member about a year and half ago. I have collected many audio gears over the years and would like to reduce my collection as I don't use them as much as I used to. This Akido sounds very good and it would be very hard to find a better sounding preamp especially at this price point. The following is the description of the builder of the preamp: https://app.audiogon.com/listings/tube-abacus-aikido-tube-preamplifier-with-remote-2014-07-27-preamplifiers-28210-charlotte-nc?show_listing=true ** From the original Audiogon Ad ** This is the last Aikido preamplifier I built and kept for myself. My current setup requires no gain preamp, and since I sold my 2a3 monoblocks it seems that I may no longer need this one, and I will not build anymore of them. It is the best looking and sounding Aikido preamplifier that I’ve built. No expense was spared to source the best available components and parts in building this one - potted NOS power transformer, rhodium RCA connectors, PIO and Mundorf coupling capacitors, precision Kiwame, Dale, Holco, Mills, and Allen-Bradley resistors, etc. Preamplifier has two switchable inputs and two pairs of outputs - each with its own pair of coupling capacitors - Mundorf Supreme, and K40Y-9 PIO. The outputs have 30 sec. startup mute delay for safe operation with solid state amplifiers (no turn on thump). Tubes used are 6n1p and 6n6p pairs. The tubes were carefully selected and matched, and currently are 6n6p-EV OC military grade with OTK and grading stampts, and a pair of carbon plate 6n6p with double post getters. Remote controls the volume via Blue Alps motorized volume pot. Volume knob was fitted with LED indicator for visual volume level feedback. ** End of the original Audiogon Ad ** I have many feedback at Audiogon (the same user name: miners).
