Audio Note Kits M2 Preamp with upgraded M3 phono section. I bought this preamp from another Asylum inmate two years ago, and he informed me that this unit was factory built.This preamp is full of premium upgraded parts including:
- DACT stereo volume attenuator
- Blackgate electrolytic caps
- Tantalum resistors It also has a second set of outputs. In addition, I - retubed the phono sections 18 months ago with $300 in NOS tubes: Raytheon CK6072 - recapped the entire preamp except for the power supply only three months ago. Parts alone were $450 -- brand new AN Copper Mylar in Foil Caps professionally installed in October/November 2015. I can provide dated receipts from HifiCollective in England for the caps. - had HEAR, LLC in NY install additional isolation between the power supply and the phono board, to make the phono as quiet as possible. I tried to take good pictures of the inside so you can see the new caps and other parts. This unit is ready for many years of enjoyment after $800 invested recently. The faceplate is in nice shape. No significant scratches though I don't want to describe the finish as perfect because you know how in the right light you can always see superficial marks in the glossy surface. There is one minor mar on the right side of the faceplate but it is not a scratch. Maybe you can see it in the picture. The case is in fine shape with nearly no marks at all. Two tiny nicks in the back edge but you cannot really see these when the case is in place. I have the original box (it is in just passable shape) but I do not have the interior packing. Therefore, I will double box and if possible will use the original box. If it is not big enough, I will err toward safety and use a larger box. Non-smoking, no pets, no kids.
