Here is a great opportunity to own a rare and near mint Conrad Johnson PV-11! I have had it recently upgraded by Avatar Engineering at a cost of ($580). The upgrades included new REL-CAP and MULTI-CAP AUDIOPHILE CAPACITORS IN BOTH THE LINE AND PHONO STAGES BYPASSED WITH TEFLON CAPS! The power supply capacitance has been doubled with audio grade capacitors along with Ultra fast soft recovery rectifiers. Vishay VTA .1%, Takman, PRP .1%, and Kiwame resistors in both signal path and critical areas in both line and phono stages. All the tubes were replaced about 6 months ago, with several NOS and other tubes as spares. The PV-11 has always been considered one of the finest sounding preamps by many reviewers including Stereophile magazine. With the upgrades especially the Teflon caps and Vishay resistors this unit will outperform preamps in the $5000 range in resolution, imaging, soundstage, with an uncanny ability to convey the feeling of a live performance!
