Today I am offering from my personal collection a FULLY restored HH Scott 355 preamplifier with AM/FM stereo multiplex. The restoration work was done by the "Scottfixer" guru Foster Blair who also does the restoration work for Mapleshade Audio in Maryland. Nothing was spared or overlooked. All caps and out of spec resisters were replaced. Two gold output jacks were installed and of course, fully tuned and aligned. The unit comes with the large "G" chassis wood case which is about 99%. There are no scratches or chips. On the left side there are two drill holes for a Scott 208 amplifier that was originally attached 50 years ago. Otherwise, it's perfect. The faceplate is about 95% with the only imperfection being that the loudness lettering is about half gone. Otherwise, the lettering is perfect. There are no scratches or dents in the faceplate. On the upper bevel, there are a couple tiny spots, but you really have to look for them. The dial has no missing lettering, and there are no cracks which is so common with analog dial units. The unit looks beautiful! The chassis is quite nice with no oxidation. The lettering is about 90% with some fading around the phono and tape jacks. This is visible in the photos, but all the lettering is still very legible. The tubes are all NOS with less than 100 hours on them. They are Telefunken 12AX7's with one Bugle Boy, Telefunken 12AU7's, Telefunken 6U8, RCA 6BQ7, Sylvania green military jan 6AU6's and a Mullard 6CA4 rectifier. There are over a $1000 in the value of the tubes alone. All stations for both AM and FM come in loud and clear. All auxiliary functions work perfectly. The tuning gauge and magic eye work perfectly. This is as good as it gets for this unit and I have personally NEVER seen a fully restored Scott 355 listed on eBay or AG or CL before. Mr. Blair said this was the most complicated unit Scott ever manufactured. Very complicated so they rarely get restored. I have used this with my restored Scott LK-150 which I also have listed. You may want to take a look. E-mail with any questions..
