If that isn't enough this unit has been totally restored with Jim McShane kits, so you can be assured of plug and play reliability.The power supply has been completely re-built with only the highest quality parts, F&T and Nichicon filters. Jim's power supply is an incredible improvement. All suspect parts, coupling caps, and rectifier have been replaced for the best possible sonic performance, ready for another 50 years. More? OK this unit is loaded with NOS Telefunken tubes..worth quite a pretty penny. These tubes are selling for around $90 a pair, give or take that's just under $500 in tubes alone. You never see these with all NOS Telefunken. More? OK this nice pre- amp is mounted in a solid MDF case laid out in real African Mahogany veneer. This is the proper way to build a case to allow for the heat and expansion with tube gear. Often times you see units like this in plywood or real wood cases that split and separate over time. This is because they are not engineered materials and they use fasteners.. This case has engineered base material without fasteners, you get the best of both worlds with the real veneer look. This pre- amp with this case weighs probably more than most amps. These units are built like a tank with an incredible power transformer for a pre- amp.. I could go on about all the accolades on this pre- amp, but I leave that up to you to research, there is plenty written about this on Audio Asylum and the internet... The unit is in surprisingly excellent condition, clean, which is also rare to find with these. There may be a few minor imperfections on the case, and on the face, but there is nothing you can detect unless you really get up close.
