This is a Marantz 4240 quad receiver. The Marantz 4240 is clean, and works well. The 4240 was cleaned, and seen bench time for an FM problem,. There was none, but a small trimmer pot, was the culprit. The 4240 was checked out. aligned, cleaned, all pots, controls, outputs checked etc. The Marantz 4240 now has a clean bill of health. The Marantz works very well and sounds great! The Marantz 4240 has the optional all wood cabinet, looks pretty good! The wood was treated with Howards and shine, lustre, no cracks, wear NICE! The Marantz is rated at 20 watts a channel at 8 ohm in stereo mode. The 4240 is rated at 8 watts a channel in quad mode. There are many inputs, controls etc on this one. The 4240 works on all modes. However I do NOT have the Marantz SQA-2 quad adapter to be put in the bottom of the 4240. This quad adapter does just that, decodes all quad modes on the face of the 4240. They are available online auction sites. The Marantz 4240 is clean, and works very well. I can demo the unit, before you decide. I am in Oak Creek 53154.
