Quick update > I have been running this unit for about 24 hours now continuously to make certain it is fully operational and sounding good before it leaves here...Feel free to take this commentary with a grain of salt if you like but I am not kidding with what follows. The unbelievable sonic quality and limitless power of this receiver has me scratching my head a bit. Actually quite a lot! I have been an audiophile all my life and I have among the best equipment available in my primary audio system...It is unfathomable to me that this receiver rivals if not surpasses my other equipment in creating the feeling of live music on the same speaker system. Maybe it is just synergy? I have a friend coming over later today to listen to it to just make sure I am not losing my mind. I was gonna just take a quick listen to Norah Jones "Come Away with Me" this morning to make sure all was still good with this guy but I was so taken by the sound I listened to the full disk and then played another of my favs....This unit doesn't just sound good, it sounds amazing...It is transparent, has lots of width and depth in the soundstage and my goodness it sounds more like live music in some ways than my other equipment. Power seems limitless.
From my brothers estate. He was an avid collector and kept the best of the best for his personal collection. IT looks fantastic and sounds good as well. As far as I know the unit has never needed service in any way? For your planning, assume the unit is an original stock unit and appropriate service (switch cleaning, caps, etc) should be performed as one sees fit for an item of this vintage. All knobs and switches are present and original. The case is clean and beautiful. The FM works well in Stereo and Mono. All FM functions work as designed. Phono inputs work just fine as well. The unit could be a showpiece with a little TLC....There are a few tiny marks here and there but given it's vintage it is in remarkable shape.
