Price Cut!Kimber Kable Select KS 3038 Speaker Cable, 8 foot pair. In their least extensive termination options, these are now (brace yourself) $14,980 dollars. These have spades on one end, bananas on the other, an option that doesn't currently seem to exist as a standard issue from Kimber. These have been in production for many years; they're the 2nd most expensive speaker cables Kimber makes. They feature silver conductors, exotic insulating material, etc etc. Here are a couple of reviews: http://www.stereotimes.com/cables081402.shtml
http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue22/kimber.htm These cables are directional: the spades are on the speaker end. These are highly resolving cables with warmth and body. I used these in the context of a Quad 57/Townsend/REL/ Audio Research System, and greatly preferred them to the Nordost cables they replaced. They have been in storage for the 10 years. They function perfectly, and look great when you're standing over them, but on close inspection there are scratches on the aluminum sleeve ends. For a serious buyer I'll try to take more detailed close-ups; provisionally I'll rate these 6/10 cosmetically, just to be on the safe side. Photographing scratches is hard. That said, the deepest of these probably won't polish out. If cosmetic perfection is important to you (and I'm not knocking it) these aren't for you; unfortunately they were packed by non-audiophiles while I was in the hospital and my house needed to be vacated. I can send you additional shots if you send me your email. There's a one-meter pair on the 'Bay with an asking price of $3150. There's also a 2.5 meter pair in in Germany with a price of 9,999 Euros. Feel free to make reasonable offers. Local auditions are welcome, albeit my current system doesn't come close to doing them justice. If transportation can be arranged (I don't drive), the option to audition them with your system is also available. I haven't done a ton of buying and selling here on Asylum; I have additional feedback under this name on Audiokarma.org. Local audition and pickup are, of course, welcome.
