I bought this Eclipse cable new over 15 years ago after auditioning a lot of cables through The Cable Company, and it has served me well indeed. Over the years I have compared it to many commercial cables including later Wireworld models such as the Eclipse 6 and Silver Eclipse 6, and it has always sounded better to my ears. That is, until I tried the Audio Note SPx silver speaker cable which is now my reference. So it is time for the Eclipse to move on to a new home.I have used the Eclipse with tube amps and solid state, with low-efficiency Thiel 3.6 speakers and high efficiency horn speakers. It has sounded great under all conditions. The cable contains many fine strands of enameled wire braided in a complex coaxial fashion which looks like an eclipse when viewed from on end. The large number of strands gives it an effective AWG of 8 as I recall. The silver spades are straight and secure.
