I am the second owner of this particular Aurum Acoustics tri- amplifier speaker system. Retail cost, depending on model and options selected was $45,000; quality and a lot of quantity doesn't come cheap.Aurum Acoustics maximizes synergies between amplifiers: 4 x SET 300B, 2 x 6SN7 preampification with 2 Hypex 100 W amplifiers. Maximum rated output of the 300b amplifiers is a 5 watts which I have seldom experienced. Operating at low power levels and having been kept in storage for a total of 5 years has helped keep the tubes and hardware young. The Aurum Acoustics Canadian website contains lengthy descriptions of techniques used to provide an all-in-one solution. These include: tri-amping, tri-wiring, an outboard active electronic crossover, highly efficient 3 way loudspeaker/driver combination. Combine this efficency with matched cabling/wiring (Cardas) produces a very coherent and full sound. As of July 2018 year, the circuits and internal components of the 300B amplifier received all upgrades currently available from the manufacturer. The list is lengthy and includes new Furutech RCA's, Belleson SPZ regulators, K & K source regulators and select replacement of internal copper wiring with silver wire. The cost? Approximately $2,000. The results are greatly increased clarity, dynamism and smoothness in the mid/high frequencies. The base notes play even louder and tighter. Based on comparative listening experiences I feel this system easily competes with new systems costing 5+ times this pricing. Please ask any questions, visit the manufacturer'website, Audiogon blog, numerous published reviews on these products. This is a really great alternative to the high cost of upgrading separate components, since you are getting a highly refined sound in a compact package that includes Amps/speakers and crossover.
